Foxnut & Amaranth Healthy Smoothie for fasting

Introducing a super healthy drink which blends together two nutritious, plant-based proteins and rich sources of calcium and iron. Amaranth (Rajgira) is one of the healthiest grains and its combination with Foxnuts (Makhanas) makes for a perfect refreshing twist on traditional cold drinks, especially during fasting days in summers when most of us indulge in unhealthy sugary drinks.

It’s a quick, easy and energizing smoothie for those hot fasting days and will keep you full for long!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Amaranth
  • 1/4 cup Foxnuts (roasted)
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup Milk, can also take a vegan alternative
  • 1/2 tbsp Jaggery powder, Optional
  • 1/2 tbsp Peanut Butter
  • 1 small Cinnamon stick , Optional

Method

  • 1)

    Dry roast the foxnuts and grind into a coarse powder.

  • 2)

    Grind the Amaranth also into a coarse powder.

  • 3)

    In a blender add chopped banana, peanut butter, jaggery powder and half your milk. Blend.

  • 4)

    Add the Foxnut powder, Amaranth powder, remaining milk and nuts of your choice to the blender. Blend with the rest and your super healthy smoothie is ready!
