Sugar-free, Vegan Chocolate Ice Cream
Who doesn’t love chocolate ice cream? Is there anyone who doesn’t like ice cream in a warm, summer day or served alongside a slice of brownie or cake? Going vegan doesn’t mean that you have to give up ice cream. This vegan recipe for chocolate ice cream uses coconut milk in place of cow milk. However, our standard ice cream is usually made with eggs, dairy and tons of sugar. Instead, this vegan ice cream is dairy-free, egg-free and even refined sugar-free.
This homemade, easy-peasy, healthy vegan ice cream is rich and creamy, made with tender coconuts, dates and cocoa powder. Ingredients
- 1 Cup Dates (soaked in water)
- 4 Tender Coconut Flesh/Cream
- ¼ Cup Cocoa Powder
- ½ Cup Tender Coconut Water
- ¼ Cup Choco Chips Or Nuts
Method

Take dates in a bowl and add sufficient water. Soak for 30 mins and keep it aside.

Add coconut flesh/cream in a blender jar, soaked dates, cocoa powder, 1.4 cup coconut water and blend it well.
- 3)
Now add the remaining coconut water and blend till well combined and a smooth micture is formed.
- 4)
Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add choco chips and gently fold it.
- 5)
Transfer the mixture into a tray and cover the surface with cling wrap so that no bubbles are formed.
- 6)
Freeze till it sets. It will take around 5-6 hours.
Notes
Serve a scoop of this ice cream with chocolate chunks, sauce and even a chunk of vegan brownie – however you like it!
